WASHINGTON — The value of U.S. services ranging from software publishers to health care rose in the second quarter, a bright spot for a sluggish economy.
Revenues from selected services rose 1.2 percent to $956.38 billion in April through June, compared with the first quarter, the Commerce Department said in a quarterly report.
U.S. information-sector revenue for the second quarter rose by 0.8 percent to $290.9 billion, the government report showed. Revenue from U.S. health care and social assistance was $459.8 billion, a 2.1 percent increase from the first quarter. Dow Jones Newswires
