Using his crying children as a shield in a downtown Aspen hotel room early Monday, Charles Brandon White allegedly told police: “I’m a UFC fighter, I can take you.”

White fought three officers in the room, in the hallway, down a flight of stairs and was subdued only after he was shocked twice with a Taser and injected with a sedative, according to an arrest affidavit obtained Wednesday.

White, 28, of Englewood, is not listed on the roster of the Ultimate Fighting Championship league.

Police were called to the St. Moritz Lodge shortly after midnight by White’s girlfriend, who said he had slapped her face several times.

Some of the same officers who fought White recognized him from earlier in the evening, when they cited him after a fight outside an Aspen pizza restaurant. In that case, he gave police his girlfriend’s last name and a phony date of birth, according to the arrest affidavit.

When officers arrived at his hotel room door, White wouldn’t answer, He initially pretended to be asleep with his children when officers entered with a key from the hotel manager, according to the report.

White then swore and yelled threats at police while clutching his young son and daughter, whose ages were not listed in the report. When officers pulled him away from the children and cuffed his hands, the fight ensued.

Arrest records say White is about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and about 155 pounds.

He is on probation for an assault in Oregon in 2007, while he was living in Bend. He also has a warrant on a failure to comply charge in Chafee County. He pleaded guilty to assault in Chafee County in 2005.

White has been arrested in several Colorado counties since 1999, including on charges of assault, drugs, reckless endangerment, harassment and domestic violence, records show.

White faces many charges stemming from the Aspen incident, including domestic violence, assault on police officers and child abuse. He is being held on $15,000 cash-only bail in the Pitkin County Jail.
