The treatment: Classic Manicure / Pedicure Combo, $60
This spa is for: Suburban dwellers who want quick, professional services in a fresh, modern setting. All basic services are $35 or less, including facials, waxing and hair wash and blow dry.
First impressions: Located in the northern quadrant of the busy Aspen Grove shopping center, Two Ten has a boutique area with handbags, jewelry and skincare products for sale up front, and a nail counter with leather chairs, a pedicure lounge with plush seating and treatment rooms in back.
The treatment was: thorough, with the technician spending ample time pushing back, trimming and moisturizing cuticles during the manicure; and taking care in applying dark polish during the pedicure. She was chatty and informative, offering tips about products and keeping our nails in good condition.
Amenities: The salon’s contemporary design and bright colors are appealing, with warm wood flooring, neutral counters and pops of orange in the seating and wall decor. The business uses eco-friendly practices, including digital magazines on iPads, nontoxic nail products (all made in the U.S.) and sterilized tools. Music provided a pleasant backdrop, but the flat screen TVs weren’t on.
Room for improvement: The technician didn’t offer anything to drink, and while we weren’t planning to order a glass of wine, it would have been nice to have the option because it’s one of the perks they tout.
Make the most of your visit: Get a pedicure because you’ll be able to use an iPad to flip through a range of digital magazines.
Repeat visit planned? Yes, particularly since Two Ten plans to open a Cherry Creek North location this fall. Hours are convenient, as they’re open seven days a week and until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Know before you go: Check out the salon’s membership option. A fee of $29.99 a month includes one service, a glass of wine (or nonalcoholic beverage), reduced prices on services and monthly parties. They’re also open to scheduling special events and offer services for men, children and teens, as well as women.
