DENVER—The Rocky Mountain Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration has spread out for a nationwide prescription drug “take-back” program this weekend that will offer people a chance to safely dispose of medicines.

The regional agency is joining national collection of unused, expired and unwanted prescription drugs on Saturday. The pills will later be destroyed.

The DEA is working with state and local law enforcement and public health partners to collect and dispose of the drugs. The service is free and anonymous. Local collection sites are listed on the DEA’s website.

Collection activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at thousands of sites throughout the country.
