ATLANTA — Jim Furyk is one round away from the biggest payday of his career.

Furyk took over the lead at The Tour Championship on Saturday with an even-par 70, giving him a one-shot lead over Retief Goosen and Luke Donald going into the final round at East Lake and the conclusion of the FedEx Cup.

They are bidding for the $10 million bonus that goes to the winner.

Furyk was trailing most of the day until a big turnaround on the par-5 15th hole, when he made a 10-foot birdie and Donald hit into a bunker and three-putted for double bogey. Donald shot a 71.

Goosen won the Tour Championship in 2004, back when winning was only worth $1.08 million.

Russ Cochran shot a 5-under 67 in the second round of the Champions Tour SAS Championship in Cary, N.C.

John Parry of England shot a 2-under 70 to take a one-stroke lead after the third round of the Vivendi Cup in Chambourcy, France.

Busch wins Nationwide race

DOVER, Del. — Kyle Busch set a single-season record for wins in the Nationwide Series, taking the checkered flag for the 11th time in only 23 races at Dover International Speedway.

Busch was tied with Sam Ard for the previous record with 10 wins. Busch also won 10 races in 2008, matching the record Ard set in NASCAR’s second-tier series in 1983. Joey Logano was second and Carl Edwards third.

• After Denny Hamlin bumped Kevin Harvick on the track, the top two points leaders were involved in a heated and profane exchange in the garage, sparking some life into the first practice at Dover.

The dust-up came a day after Hamlin blasted Clint Bowyer, saying Harvick’s RCR teammate was making excuses for why his winning car at New Hampshire failed a follow-up inspection. Hamlin starts fourth and Harvick is 33rd in today’s NASCAR Chase race.

• Funny car driver Tim Wilkerson raced to the No. 1 qualifying position at the NHRA Fall Nationals in Ennis, Texas.

Wilkerson will open against Dale Creasy Jr. today, while series leader John Force will face teammate Robert Hight in the first round.

Austin Dillon raced to his second NASCAR Trucks Series win of the year in Las Vegas.

• Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso has taken the pole position for today’s Singapore Grand Prix.
