CASTLE ROCK — A Colorado State trooper from Colorado Springs will spend 10 days in jail after he pleaded guilty today to driving drunk while on duty.
David Dolan also pleaded guilty in Douglas County Court to prohibited use of a weapon and official misconduct in the March 22 incident on Colorado 470.
Douglas County Judge Monica Gomez imposed the jail sentence on Dolan who apologized for his actions and for any disgrace he brought upon the State Patrol.
Dolan was arrested March 22 after police received reports that a State Patrol vehicle was swerving.
Dolan was in his Colorado State Patrol trooper uniform and was carrying a gun at the time of his arrest. His blood-alcohol content, according to a police report, was 0.194 percent – more than twice the limit at which a driver is presumed impaired.
