Boulder-based BeadforLife, which has been selling jewelry made by Ugandan women, is adding products: organic shea butter soap and lip balm. A launch party for the items will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday at 2336 Canyon Blvd., Suite 202. Program co-founder Torkin Wakefield will share stories about the program at 1 and 4 p.m. BeadforLife works with women in Uganda who use recycled paper to make bead jewelry, which is then sold to fund health care, housing and business and training programs in the impoverished country. Ugandan women are now also gathering wild shea nuts, which are used to make the lip balm and soap. Their earnings are used to pay school fees, purchase livestock, and improve housing conditions. The jewelry and organic products are available for purchase at bead parties, online and at the BeadforLife store in Boulder. More at .
