A recent trade mission to Denmark and Finland by Gov. Bill Ritter and other state leaders is expected to produce a project for Colorado.

An announcement of the deal is anticipated before the end of December.

“It is in clean energy,” said Tom Clark, executive vice president of the Metro Denver Economic Development Corp., who accompanied Ritter from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4. “We don’t know how many jobs yet. We’re working on the financing pieces.”

The Colorado group visited the Denmark headquarters of Vestas, the world’s largest manufacturer of wind turbines, which has facilities in Louisville, Windsor and Pueblo.

Clark said it was amazing how well Ritter and Colorado were known as a state strong in “innovation and forward movement in clean tech.”
