Now that we have a few days of rest, we started asking around about performances that left the most impact on our festival friends. We’ve gotten lots of great feedback — from the special-secret Murder Pinchers sweatfest at 3 Kings Tavern (that was a partial Warlock Pinchers reunion) to Flobots’ mesmerizing hour-plus set at the CarToys Stage (which drew thousands of people to The UMS’s outdoor festival area).
But perhaps the most infamous performance of the weekend came from , the Denver garage band that reunited to headline 3 Kings on Saturday night. The show is already the thing of legend — enhanced by a series of prophetically apologetic posters and T-shirts the band printed up — and here’s video proof of the group’s self-destructive take on T. Rex’s “20th Century Boy.” (Looks like the above video was shot by the Swayback’s Eric Halborg).
