Robert Jesse Gallegos pleaded guilty today to running over a 24-year-old woman crossing the street at Evans Avenue and Josephine Street while he was drunk in March.

Gallegos, 23, faces up to four years in prison when he is sentenced on Nov. 10 for vehicular assault and driving under the influence.

Gallegos was driving with his older sister in her sport-utility vehicle about 2 a.m. on March 6 when he struck Lindsey Howland, who was seriously injured.

He fled then returned a short time later with his parents.

Gallegos remains free on bond.
