Becoming the world’s first female ski-BASE jumper did not come without a price. In 2006, Karina Hollekim’s pro skiing and BASE jumping career was cut short when she suffered 25 leg fractures in a near-fatal aerial accident. She endured 20 surgeries and has had to relearn to walk. Now she’s skiing again.

On Wednesday, The North Face Global Team Athlete from Norway is sharing her experience. In “Beyond the Edge,” presented by The North Face and Christy Sports, Hollekim will share her story about choosing her own path and exploring it — from the tops of mountains to within herself.

Attendees will hear from Hollekim firsthand at the Boulder Theater beginning at 7 p.m., preceded by a 6 p.m. VIP reception benefiting the University of Colorado’s Alpine Club.

Info: Tickets are free on a first-come, first-served basis. Guaranteed seats are available starting at $8 at . VIP reception tickets, which include a meet-and-greet with Hollekim, are available for $20.
