DENVER—A suburban Denver pot grower who failed in his attempt to use Colorado’s medical marijuana law as a defense on federal drug charges has indicated he will plead guilty.
Christopher Bartkowicz (BART’-kuh-wits) told the federal court he plans to plead guilty Thursday to cultivation charges. The possible plea change comes after a judge rejected his attempt to use Colorado pot rules in his defense.
Last month a federal judge sided with prosecutors who asked to ban Bartkowicz from talking about Colorado’s marijuana law or the drug’s medicinal uses.
Federal drug agents seized hundreds of marijuana plants from Bartkowicz’s Highlands Ranch home in February after he showed off his growing business to a TV news station.
