A 33-year-old Erie woman is facing child-abuse and reckless-driving charges after Boulder police said she threw a full cup of liquid at another car during a road-rage incident and splashed a toddler in that car’s back seat.

Maria Bass denies the charges.

Bass was ticketed Oct. 15 after police said she pulled in front of another driver at the intersection of Arapahoe Avenue and 75th Street about 1:30 p.m. The other driver, identified as Mark Miller, 42, of Erie, told police that Bass continued to drive erratically and dangerously down Arapahoe and he pulled up next to her at the intersection with 55th Street.

Miller, who was in the car with his wife and three children — ages 2, 5 and 6 — yelled at Bass. Bass, who was in the car with her 5-year-old daughter, responded with an expletive, according to police, and Miller responded with the same curse word. Both cars continued driving west. At the intersection of Arapahoe and 47th Street, Miller said, Bass threw a full cup of liquid at his car, and some of it hit the 2-year-old, who was in the back seat with the window down.
