FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla — Singer Celine Dion gave birth to unnamed twin boys on Saturday at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach.
The Canadian pop singer’s high-risk pregnancy went smoothly, doctors said, and the boys were born by cesarean section at 11 a.m. and 11:12 a.m. EDT. One weighed 5 pounds, 10 ounces, and the other weighed 5 pounds, 4 ounces.
“This is a joyous moment,” said their father, Rene Angelil, who also has a 9-year- old son with his superstar wife.
Dion, 42, was admitted to St. Mary’s a week ago to be monitored, according to her physicians, Dr. Ronald Ackerman and Dr. Ruel Stoessel. She was 34 weeks pregnant at the time. Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Sun-Sentinel
