Streaking: Sophomore quarterback Trent Steelman has started 20 consecutive games. He’s approaching the longest consecutive starting streak for an Army quarterback — 22 in a row by Ronnie McAda in 1994-96.
Who’s hot: Sophomore fullback Jared Hassin has rushed for at least 100 yards in three consecutive games and has at least one 50-yard run in each of the last two games. He rushed for 158 yards Saturday against VMI.
Who’s not: Army’s passing offense ranks last in the country, averaging 73.5 yards a game. Steelman has completed 41-of-77 passes with four touchdowns and no interceptions.
Key stat: Army’s defense comes to play, ranking fifth in the country in turnover margin at 1.25 a game. The Black Knights have collected 18 turnovers, 11 fumbles and seven interceptions.
FYI: Army’s passing attack thrives on efficiency, ranking as the only team in the NCAA’s top division that hasn’t surrendered an interception. Overall, Army has completed 42-of-80 pass attempts.
