Lotus’ rise to fame has been a gradual one, and the band owes much of its success to its Colorado audience, which has propelled them to a headlining date at the Fillmore Auditorium this Saturday. Formed at a Mennonite college in Indiana, the group relocated to Philadelphia in the early 2000s and cut their teeth routinely opening for the likes of STS9 and the Disco Biscuits. Through nearly non-stop touring, the Lotus “jamtronica” sound found its place in the musical landscape, particularly on the Front Range (which several of the band members now call home). With a pulsating rhythm section and a light show that rivals the best in the game, Lotus is sure to set the Fillmore on fire with some jammy, tasty grooves. Saturday ($39.50, )

Generationals has a vintage pop sound that feels more Motown than New Orleans, which the quirky group calls home. Part lo-fi guitars, part washy hi-hats and tap-tap beats, Generationals could have probably made a living touring the high school prom circuit in the 1950s. On Wednesday night at the Larimer Lounge, expect plenty of rattling tambourines, clap-a-longs and more than a few Chubby Checker impersonations. ($8-10, ).
