An Aurora man was injured in a traffic crash this morning on U.S. Highway 285 about 9 miles south of Bailey.

The crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. and the injured driver was flown by helicopter to St. Anthony Central Hospital in critical condition, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The Aurora man was driving a black Dodge Durango pickup truck south on the highway when he entered the northbound lane, while in a curve, and struck the trailer of a northbound semi-truck, according to a state patrol media release.

The name of the driver was not released.

The state patrol is investigating the crash and further details will be released as they become available.
