A 42-year-old man was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting Saturday in an alley behind a residence at 36 Clarkson St., Denver police said Monday.
Jerry Allen Thompson was arrested Sunday on suspicion of first-degree murder. Police responded to the alley between Clarkson and Emerson streets at 10:09 p.m. Saturday after residents in the area reported gunshots, Denver police said. Witnesses told police they had seen a man with a rifle shortly before the shooting.
The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner has not yet identified the victim, and an autopsy was being conducted Monday.
