FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — It didn’t have the drama of the crippled Carnival Splendor cruise ship arriving in San Diego after four days at sea without power, but one of the two largest cruise ships in the world, Allure of the Seas, sailed into its new home port Thursday, completing its maiden voyage across the Atlantic.

Allure of the Seas has 16 decks and can accommodate 6,300 passengers and about 2,000 crew members. Its amenities include a boardwalk, a mini-Central Park with trees and plants, a full production of a Broadway show (“Chicago: The Musical”) and other activities.

Its twin megaship, Oasis of the Seas, launched last year.
