DENVER—Parades and other remembrances marked Veterans Day across Colorado.
Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver moved its annual wreath-laying ceremony indoors Thursday amid cold and snowy weather. Republican congressman Mike Coffman, a retired Marine, was among those who spoke at a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Englewood.
Durango veterans held a parade and in Pueblo, residents dedicated a bridge engraved with the names of veterans. Gov. Bill Ritter presented the Colorado flag during that ceremony.
The American Red Cross, meanwhile, invited people to sign a thank you banner for members of the military on Denver’s 16th Street Mall. It will be used at National Guard homecomings and military events.
