Police are looking for a man who impersonated an officer but got nowhere in his attempt to fool a Fountain woman.
The woman told police that at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, there was a “loud pounding on her door” in the 800 block of South Santa Fe Avenue. When she answered the door, a man dressed like a Fountain police officer said her son had “just got caught breaking into a trailer,” police said.
The victim told the man she didn’t believe him and she was going to call the police. The man drove off.
Police described the suspect as about 6 feet tall with short black hair and short facial hair, possibly “Hispanic or Italian.” Anyone with information is asked to call 719-382-8555.
