A man was robbed early Thursday in Colorado Springs when an “escort” he had hired let a hooded, armed robber into his hotel room, police said.
The incident happened just before 1 a.m. at the Residence Inn, 3880 N. Academy Blvd., according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
The victim, a 48-year-old man, told officers he had been seeing a 24-year-old female escort he had found online, police said.
The escort was with the man Wednesday night into the early-morning hours of Thursday when he fell asleep.
The victim told police he was awakened by a knock on the door and the escort opening it to a hooded man armed with a handgun.
The robber “went through the victim’s room and took several items of value,” and the escort left with the robber. The pair remain at large.
