A stabbing about 8:30 p.m. Thursday in northeast Denver has left a Montbello man dead, Denver police said today.
The victim was identified as Juan Nevarez, 40.
Police said Nevarez sustained the fatal injuries during an altercation with several other people in the 12000 block of East 50th Avenue.
The suspects have not been identified.
According to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner, Nevarez was taken from his home to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The medical examiner said the manner of death was homicide. An autopsy will be performed today to determine the cause of death.
Police are asking individuals with information about the incident to call the department at 720-913-2000 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Information leading to the arrest and charging of a wanted individual can result in a cash award of up to $2,000.
