Denver City Councilman Michael Hancock announced his mayoral campaign on Monday, unveiling his campaign slogan: “We are Denver.”
“Together we have made Denver a great city,” Hancock said from inside the Lower Downtown business RavenBrick, a firm that develops energy-efficient building material. “Together we will address the growing challenges that we face.”
The councilman, who represents northeast Denver, said his top priority will be bringing good-paying jobs.
Hancock is the former president of the Urban League of Metro Denver. In 2003, voters elected him to the City Council; his colleagues selected him to be council president for two terms, from 2006 to 2008.
