LAFAYETTE — The employer of a woman who was found dead alongside her 9-year-old daughter in the garage of her Lafayette home Wednesday night — apparent victims of carbon-monoxide poisoning — said she has a hard time believing the tragedy was a murder-suicide.

“I think it was an accident,” said Leah Benner, a manager at Home Base Delivery in Lafayette. “She loved (her daughter) so much.”

While the victims’ identities have not yet been released by authorities, Benner said the victims were Patrice Clark and daughter Nicole.
