COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A Marine from Colorado Springs has died in Afghanistan.
The Defense Department announced Monday that 28-year-old Sgt. Jason T. Smith died Friday during combat operations in Helmand province.
Smith was assigned to the Explosives Ordnance Disposal Branch at the Marine Corps Air Station in Iwakuni, Japan.
