Natural-gas futures rose to the highest price in almost four months as forecasts predicted colder-than-normal weather in the U.S., boosting demand for the heating fuel.

Natural gas for January delivery advanced 1.1 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $4.399 per million British thermal units on the New York Mercantile Exchange in its first trading day as a front-month contract. The December contract expired at $4.267 on Wednesday.
