GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Structural engineers are trying to determine why the ceiling of a Grand Junction thrift store partially collapsed when 22 people were inside.

No serious injuries were reported in the incident on Friday at the Salvation Army store.

Roger Miller, a Denver-based spokesman for the Salvation Army, says the store and a warehouse are closed during the investigation.

One person who was in the store was treated for respiratory problems and released from the hospital. A firefighter was treated for a cut hand.

Workers feared one shopper didn’t make it out, but a seven-hour search by firefighters found no one in the rubble.
