Two accidents have occurred on U.S. 6 in Clear Creek Canyon about three miles from Golden, with one of the cars ending up in Clear Creek, according to Trooper Nate Reid of the Colorado State Patrol.

Reid said the separate accidents, which occurred about 9:14 a.m., resulted in no serious injuries.

He said the two occupants of the vehicle that landed in the river have been rescued and received only minor injuries.

He said the second car, a 2007 black Honda sedan, crashed into an embankment on the side of U.S. 6. The occupant of that vehicle was not injured, said Reid.

Reid said the two vehicles did not collide with one another.

The highway was re-opened shortly after 11 a.m.
