IDAHO SPRINGS — Echo Mountain is starting its fifth ski season with new terrain.

The ski area about 35 miles from downtown Denver added a new beginner run in August and increased access to glade skiing. It was starting its season Wednesday.

It offers about 85 acres of trails and terrain on private land.

The ski area is closed to the public on most Tuesdays but is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. all other days except Sunday, when it closes at 4 p.m.
