How does one even begin to thank Sharon Magness Blake for having raised at least $50 million for local charities? Giving her the Mizel Museum Community Enrichment Award is a nice start.

The co-founder of Western Fantasy will be honored at a dinner to be held May 26 at a venue she has filled on numerous other occasions: Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum.

“I’ve never met anyone like Sharon,” says the Mizel Museum’s executive director, Ellen Premack. “It’s an incredible privilege for us to be able to honor someone who dedicates herself to so many people in so many ways. She’s the embodiment of a mitzvah; she really brings the word to life because her support of women, youth, human services and the arts in Colorado is unprecedented.”

Magness Blake is president of the Thunder Foundation (formerly the Bob and Sharon Magness Foundation) and a partner in Epicurean Catering. She currently serves on the boards of the University of Colorado Hospital Foundation, the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation and the National Western Stock Show and is a past member of boards for Volunteers of America, the University of Denver, Denver Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the National Cable Television Center and Museum, and Wings Over the Rockies.

She has chaired the National Repertory Orchestra’s Summer Gala, Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s Pink Tie Affair and Men for the Cure’s annual steak- and-cigar dinner.

“My (philanthropic) vision is to make a huge difference,” she says, “and I’m thrilled to be in the company of those who have received the Mizel Museum’s Community Enrichment Award before me.” That group includes Anna and John Sie, Gov.-elect John Hickenlooper and attorney Norm Brownstein.

It’s not too soon to order tickets. To do so, call Premack at 303-749-5011.

Another biggie.

ArtReach struck gold when it established Dine & D’Art as its signature fundraiser, and when it came time to reveal plans for the 2011 edition, 200 people turned out for the announcement party held at the Gene Schneider estate in Cherry Hills Village.

Dine & D’Art is just what its name suggests: An event where dinner is followed by a race to claim works donated by area painters, sculptors and fabric artists. It’s all “good stuff,” ranging in value from $400 to $4,500, so the competition to snag one’s first choice is fierce.

Michael Ledwitz and Joe McCormick are chairing the March 12 event, with Judi Wolf serving in an honorary capacity.

As with the aforementioned Mizel Museum dinner, now is the time to sign up. Visit .
