A man in his mid-70s was hit and pinned beneath the wheels of a car driven by a 77-year-old woman in Lakewood on Saturday afternoon.
The man had just mailed a letter next to a Christmas tree display at a King Soopers store at South Kipling Street and West Florida Avenue, said Lakewood police spokesman Steve Davis.
When he returned to the parking lot, he was struck by the woman, who was making a turn near the entrance of the store, Davis said.
The man was rushed to surgery at St. Anthony Central Hospital in serious condition, he said.
No names were released. The woman has not been charged.
