Pitkin County authorities have suspended the search for 28-year-old George Aldrich, the Snowmass Ski Area employee missing for two weeks.
Officials said at a press conference Friday they would continue to pursue leads and reinstate a ground search, if necessary, according to the Aspen Times.
Sheriff’s Department spokesman Alex Burchetta said searchers had exhausted logical locations in more than 25 missions, including several agencies, dozens of volunteers, dogs, aircraft and underwater technology.
Aldrich moved to the area about six weeks ago from Rhode Island. He was reported missing after he did not show up for work as a ski lift operator on Nov. 29. He was last seen on Nov. 27 at about 10:30 p.m., when he missed his bus stop and told others on the bus he planned to hitch-hike back to Snowmass.
Aldrich is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, about 140 pounds and has long brown hair. He was last seen wearing a plaid winter coat.
