BYERS, Colo.—Sheriff’s officials are reporting no injuries from a fire that ignited near a natural gas well south of Byers.
Arapahoe County sheriff’s Lt. David Thompson says residents reported flames around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
El Paso Corp. spokesman Richard Wheatley tells KMGH-TV in Denver that equipment near the storage well was on fire. The cause of the fire isn’t immediately known.
The well is operated by El Paso Corp.’s subsidiary Colorado Interstate Gas. Wheatley says customers shouldn’t notice any change in service.
