Quicker Quaker 5K
Jan. 8: The 15th annual 5K Walk/Run is open to all ages and levels and is part of the Lafayette Quaker Oatmeal Festival. Race time is 9:30 a.m. at the Rocky Mountain Center for Musical Arts (RMCMA), 200 E. Baseline Road. Fees are $17 in advance, $27 after Jan. 6. American Mountaineering Center and Museum
Through Jan. 31: The American Mountaineering Museum and American Alpine Club Library present the “Alpine Styles” art exhibit of works focusing on climbing and mountaineering. Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series
March 5: Registration discounts are available until Jan. 19 for this Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure benefit to be held at the Frisco Nordic Center in Frisco. Snowshoers of all ages and levels are invited to raise money in support of breast cancer education and research. Tubbs Romp to Stomp invites young people to get involved with the Lil Romper program for kids ages 6-12; the Lil Bitty Rompers, up to age 5; and, new for 2011, the Lil Romper Dash, a snowshoe sprint for kids.
