A 27-year-old woman who lost her baby when a hit- and-run driver plowed into her is now in fair condition, according to Kalina Wilkinson, spokeswoman for Denver Health Medical Center.
Laura Gorham, who was 34 weeks pregnant, was walking east in a crosswalk on East 29th Avenue Thursday about 5 p.m. when a dark sport utility vehicle or pickup struck her as it headed south on Central Park Boulevard.
Gorham entered the hospital in stable condition. Her baby boy was delivered at the hospital but did not survive.
Police have not yet located the vehicle and continue to investigate the incident, said Denver police spokesman John White.
