DENVER—Coloradans in the U.S. House split 4-3 on a bill that blocks a big tax increase on New Year’s Day.

The House passed the bill 277-148 late Thursday and sent it to President Barack Obama.

Colorado Democrats Betsy Markey, Jared Polis and John Salazar voted in favor, as did Republican Mike Coffman.

Republicans Doug Lamborn and Democrats Diana DeGette and Ed Perlmutter voted no.
