Claudia Jimenez-Cedillo, 27, of Aurora was sentenced to 24 years in prison and five years of parole today for the 2008 death of her 1-year-old niece.
Prosecutors said Jimenez-Cedillo was babysitting the child when she became frustrated and violently shook the child several times when the teething baby didn’t stop crying.
She also struck the child’s head on the crib, causing a skull fracture and bleeding in the brain and behind the eyes.
