Cowboys (5-9) at Cardinals (4-10), 5:30 p.m., NFL
The skinny: Cowboys interim coach Jason Garrett is trying to win the job permanently. He has gotten more than many expected from backup quarterback Jon Kitna, who has thrown for 1,501 yards and 11 touchdowns in his last six games.
Kitna also has four 300-yard passing games since taking over for the injured Tony Romo.
The Cardinals are coming off a dismal loss to the Panthers, and their rookie quarterback — John Skelton — has yet to throw a TD pass in his two starts.
The difference will be: How interested the Cowboys are in this holiday affair. Their defense has largely under-performed this season when the team needed it most.
However, the Cardinals’ offense has been sluggish all season, more so with Skelton, a fifth-round pick in last April’s draft, trying to learn on the fly. The Cardinals have gained 227 yards or less in eight games this season.
The three QBs who’ve started games for Arizona this season have completed just 50.5 percent of their passes combined, with eight TDs and 17 interceptions.
The call: Cowboys 30-16
