Officers from several agencies, including Thornton police and the Colorado State Patrol, chased a suspect across the north metro area Tuesday night. The chase ended about 7:45 p.m. in the 9700 block of Steele Street.
Colorado State Patrol Sgt. John Hahn told reporters that a number of shots were fired during the chase. The suspect was in custody and being treated for undisclosed injuries.
The pursuit, involving a red Ford Ranger, started after a traffic stop near 130th Avenue and Holly Street around 7:13 p.m. Hahn said the suspected drunk driver ran over a police officer’s foot when he took off. In addition to the officer who injured his foot, a state trooper suffered minor injuries.
Adams County Sheriff’s deputies and Commerce City police also participated in the chase.
