Bentley University senior Brian Tracey, a Heritage High School graduate, matched his career high with 26 points as the Falcons, winners of nine straight, defeated Saint Michael’s College 77-71 in an NCAA Division II men’s basketball game at the Ross Sports Center in Colchester, Vt.
Tracey achieved his third career 26-point game on 10-of-14 shooting. Bentley (9-2, 7-0 Northeast-10 Conference) is in first place in the NE-10 and is ranked No. 24 in Division II.
The Falcons return home to Waltham, Mass., on Wednesday night to face New Haven.
CHL’s Eagles futility continues at Texas.
The Colorado Eagles fell 5-2 to the Texas Brahmas in Central Hockey League action at the NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills, Texas, pushing their all-time record at the arena to 0-7-1 (including playoffs). The loss was Colorado’s only one on a road trip that saw it take on the top team from each conference and visit three cities in as many days.
The Brahmas’ Chris Moran scored his second goal of the night and the game-winner just 18 seconds into the third period, getting a shot past Kyle Jones.
The Eagles return home for their first home games of 2011 at the Budweiser Events Center, facing the Allen Americans on Friday and the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Saturday.
