A 41-year-old house cleaner was sentenced today to 30 years in prison for kidnapping a client from her home in Evergreen and sexually assaulting her.
Joel Michael Herrin of Kittredge went to a home in Evergreen to clean, as he had done for four years, on Dec. 29, 2009. Instead, he accosted the 44-year-old woman, handcuffed her hands and feet and took her to his home.
He was arrested by Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies who went to his home after the woman was reported missing when she failed to pick up her children.
Herrin pleaded guilty to kidnapping and attempted sexual assault. He will be required to register as a sex offender.
