Kids, grab your boots and hats. If you’re ages 1 to 10, you can enter the “Best Dress Western” contest at today’s annual National Western Stock Show VIP barbecue lunch at noon in the Wells Fargo Atrium, 1740 Broadway. Children and their parents will be invited to come to the stage at about 12:20 p.m., and prizes will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place winners. Prizes include rodeo tickets and toy horses from Wells Fargo. The lunch is preceded by the annual parade that begins at noon at Union Station and runs down 17th Street. Western music, a VIP Western fashion show and barbecue are included in the price of $9, with proceeds benefitting the 4-H International Youth group. Denver Post file photo
