DENVER—Colorado education officials say statewide school enrollment has risen by nearly 11,000 students or 1.3 percent.
The state Education Department said Tuesday that more than 843,000 students enrolled in Colorado public schools for the current academic year.
The three largest districts are Jefferson County, with nearly 86,000 students, Denver with more than 78,000 and Douglas County with more than 61,000.
Statewide enrollment has increased every year since 1989.
The largest year-to-year increase was in the 2008-2009 academic year, when enrollment jumped 2 percent.
