DENVER—Gov. John Hickenlooper says the current economic crisis is personal and goes beyond statistics and forecasts.
Hickenlooper told hundreds of spectators on the West Steps of the state Capitol on Tuesday that almost everyone in Colorado knows someone who has lost a job.
He also said many people have been forced to go back to work because their nest egg cracked with the meltdown on Wall Street.
In his inaugural address, Hickenlooper said people need meaningful work and his first task and highest priority is jobs.
