Police are investigating the murder of a 67-year-old Brighton man after a neighbor discovered the victim’s body Wednesday morning, a police spokesman said.

Brighton Police arrived at the victim’s home at 9 a.m. and found the body, Brighton Police Spokesman John Bradley said. Bradley said that a coroner’s examination earlier today led police to launch a homicide investigation.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is assisting Brighton Police on the case, and Bradley said that police do not believe the murder was a random act.

This case marks the first homicide reported in Brighton since November 2008, Bradley said.
