The Aurora Police Department has identified two men who were arrested Friday afternoon following a “take-over” bank robbery and a foot chase that led to police shooting one of the men.

Brothers, Tristin Gemall McGlothin, 26, and Jovan Gemark McGlothin, 26, went into the Citywide Bank just after 4:30 p.m. Friday in the 10600 block of East Colfax.

Detective Bob Friel, a spokesman for Aurora Police, said the two suspects were heavily armed.

The men disarmed a security guard who was in the bank.

While the men were in the bank, a witness was on the phone with police dispatch and provided critical information for police who responded.

When police arrived, the suspects were leaving the bank and attempted to flee on foot. Jovanwas apprehended just south of the bank. His brother, Tristin,attempted to run into the neighborhood, and a police officer shot him.

Tristin was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Both men are now in custody at the Arapahoe County Jail for investigation of second degree kidnapping and aggravated robbery. They are each being held on $50,000 bond.

The officer who shot the suspect has been placed on administrative leave, according to department policy. His name has not been released.
