DENVER—No screens in the front seat of a car remains the law in Colorado.

A Senate bill to tweak Colorado’s ban on having video screens in the front seat or visible to the driver appears unlikely to proceed this year. A committee voted unanimously Tuesday to postpone it, a signal the bill won’t advance.

Senate Bill 14 would have tweaked the screen prohibition to allow screens in the front seat as long as they’re not visible to the driver.

The bill would also have allowed drivers to see computer screens and other data terminals as long as the devices aren’t used for visual entertainment.
