Home furnishings retailer IKEA said today that it plans to install a solar array on the roof of its new store under construction in Centennial.
Pending governmental permits, installation of solar panels will begin next month, with completion by grand opening in the fall, the company said.
REC Solar will design, build and install the 60,000-square-foot solar energy system. The array will consist of 2,212 panels, that will produce approximately 740,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
