A man who was reportedly suicidal was shot by police in Fort Collins Tuesday night.
The man, who was not named, was taken to the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. His condition was not released.
Police were called to the home in the 3100 block of Longhorn Court at about 7:30 p.m. on a report of a suicidal man with weapons who had barricaded himself inside his home.
A statement from Fort Collins police said the man was firing shots inside and outside the home before he was struck by an officer’s bullet.
The officer involved was placed on paid leave during an investigation into the shooting, both of which are standard procedure, police said. The officer’s name was not released.
